All who knew Aileen will remember her kindness, gnerosity, smile, sense of humour, as well as her many hobbies (dancing, sewing, knitting, baking, tai chi, belly dancing and wine making, just to name a few). However Aileen's greatest life long passion was figure skating, and it was on the ice that she forged many close bonds with others.
Aileen was among the founding members of the Parksville Golden Oldies Sports Association and was also active for many years in the local ice skating program, where she taught people of all ages to skate. She was also an active member of Knox United Church, Parksville.
Aileen made friends easily, and maintained those friendships throughout her long and happy life.
Aileen is predeceased by her husband, John Porter, and is survived by daughters Christine (Ogilvie), April and Jennifer, grandaughter Kathleen, godchildren, and dear friends of all ages. She will be greatly missed.
The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Trillium Lodge, Parksville, whose dedication and loving care ensured Aileen's last 2 years of life were made safe and comfortable.
